Hi, I was really confused when I had my first attack of gout 8 months ago, you see I associated gout with too much alcohol and "good" living, yes in my younger days I did drink, but that was some years ago more than 10 years in fact! Yes my diet had been a little excessive but I had never had gout in all this time, until, that is, I decided to go on a health kick………..I changed my whole diet to a completely healthy one, I was exercising daily and then 4 months into this regime I was struck down with gout in my right big toe…..oh my word, the pain was indescribable, at first I thought that I had broken it somehow but could not recall stubing or dropping anything on it, I went to the A&E department to get it checked out, they xrayed it but could see no breaks or fractures, they were as puzzled as I was, then they took blood samples and 3 days later the results came through….high uric acid levels….hmm gout! I have now had 4 attacks in all within 9 months, it progressed from my big toe to my ankles and as I write this I currently have both ankles swollen with GOUT! So I am now searching for remedies and cures and have come across this site so joined you all in the unbearable pain we all endure from time to time!
