First let me say I am in no way promoting this product or linked to it in any way. It happened to come up in my search over the Internet.

Being a relative newcomer to the world of gout, obviously I haven’t gone through the years of research that Keith has and sifted through the wheat from the chaff. Looking at their website, they claim to have a product that helps gouties with impressive testimonials to boot but being 40+ has taught me that you can’t trust everything you read on the internet.

I was a bit hesitant in asking this on this forum because I think I can safely say that the motto recited on this forum is “All Hail Lord Allupurinol!” and if anyone even dares blaspheme against Lord Allopurinol or seek other gods (cure), he(she) shall incur the wrath of Hans. Now, that’s not to say the consensus on this forum is not 100% correct; in fact, that might end up being the conclusion I arrive to after years of research and trying out other means to beat this thing. I don’t have that experience under my belt at the moment. So don’t beat me up on it.

My question is simply: Has anyone tried this product and has it helped or is it humbug (and one of many humbugs out there).

If you search PubMed, or any other decent research database, you will see that there are many herbs that will reduce uric acid. Some work by encouraging excretion (uricosuric), others by inhibiting xanthine oxidase.

Personally, I am not convinced that Gout Care has the right combination, but I will always say, if it works for you, then that is good.

My main concern is that people waste money on this type of product without thinking about what they are trying to achieve. The goal of every gout sufferer should be to get uric acid to 5mg/dL (0.30mmol/L) or below. If Gout Care does that, it is good, but then you should also consider cost.
